Leisurely bike ride on Sunday Oct. 25th

This coming Sunday Oct. 25th, we will be gathering to to a casual bike ride around the roads and tracks of Salgados and Armação de Pêra.

Everyone is welcome to join us.

The meeting point is in the Aldi Supermarket car park in Alcantarilha at 9.45am. We plan on leaving at 10am.

The ride will be around 25km, but there will be options to shorten or extend depending on how the riders feel. Part of route will take us on to the Ecovia bike route along the coast. This will be an easy and pleasant ride with a cafe stop.

Bike hire can be arranged but will have to be booked in advanced.

Our guide on Sunday is Paul Beesley, and a minimal cost of €5 is required.

Layla, the latest participant

Layla, the dog, will be accompanying her owner Colin on the bike ride from Albufeira to Sagres. She will be doing this not as a passenger but actually running alongside the cyclists.

She is extremely fit and should be well able to handle this run.

You can sponsor Layla per kilometre or for the event to a value that you feel comfortable with by sending a message to her personal email address layla@ecoaidalgarve.org

She feels privileged to help her fellow canine friends that have not been so lucky in finding a caring and kind owner that she has.

Raffle Tickets for Draw at Mid point of Cycle.

So everyone, we have had some great interest so far and we still need more cyclists and more sponsors so put the word out as much as you all can.

Tomorrow we have on sale raffle tickets that we will draw at the half way mark dinner on the 7th of November. We are yet to confirm a venue for the Half Way Dinner but it will be a good night with entertainment and good energy.... if the riders have any of that left haha.

We are also looking for people to donate prizes for this so we have a good selection.

So far:
SUNWOOD HOME CONCEPTS has donated a personalised consultation & €500 voucher for home furnishings
PRIMA PASTA has donated a meal for 2;
LISA HOWE has donated a head, neck and shoulder massage;
VICKY TAYLOR has donated a specialist oxygen facial;
LARA'S PLAICE has donated traditional fish and chips for 2;
SCUBA TOURS have offered a “Try Dive “

We are looking for more people who can donate something for the raffle. The Algarve is one of those places where we all have skills that other people need so something that you can offer that others would normally have to pay for is what we want.

Any one that has sponsored a rider automatically gets a ticket put in the draw for every €5 they sponsor.
